he Agarwalla Group with 60 years experience in crushing industry realises the need to develop suitable crushing equipment to produce large amounts of smaller particles with less operating cost and with less power consumption.

Hence, now we have developed the third generation of crushing system in India known as VSI (Vertical Shaft Impactor). The concept of crushing is between stone to stone, or in other words materials to be crushed hit the same lining materials at very high speed and the crushed materials are passed through a cloud of materials again and again. With the help of VSI producing fine and course material in the range of 0 - 4.75 mm or to 0 - 10 mm becomes very easy, compared to any other type of equipment such as horizontal shaft impactor or cone crusher. The main advantages of the vertical shaft impactor are :

1. Less power consumption per ton of output.

2. At least 5-10 times less maintenance and operating cost compared to similar type of equipment, due to absence of wear and tear of metal parts with stone.

3. Very simple mechanism for operation and use.

4. Perfect granular shape of output. This is due to high velocity stones from the ejector colliding with the liner stones, and chopping off all fine corners as a result.

5. Perfect control of output size and capacity with the help of speed variation.

6. Lowest possible recycle load since 60-70% output can be maintained within fine and coarse aggregate range.

7. Control of fine particles in output with speed control only.

8. No need of graded feed like cone crusher application.

9. Equipment manufactured in India with complete after sales and spare parts back up facility.

10. Suitable for materials with high abrasiveness and silica content, while exhibiting the lowest wear and tear compared to any other equipment. Due to this advantage, vertical shaft impactors have wide applications in the following areas :

i) For production of crushed sand to replace low value natural sand in all concreting work.

ii) For production of perfectly cubical shape aggregates as per the specification of MOST to be used in road making as Bituminous Concrete (BC) and Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM).

iii) For pre-grinding of raw material in cement plant before feeding to the ball mill.
